BE SURE YOUR KILT IS PLAID TO PERFECTION - GREAT ARTICLE!

Order this design on a shirt, poster, mug, more... I have long felt that there was a desperate need for a website devoted to the WEARING of the kilt, not merely the sales of highland wear, kilts, sporrans, etc. To be certain, there are definitely sites detailing the history of the kilt, how to wear the kilt, etc., but not one that celebrated the wearing of this simple but somewhat controversial fashion.

Yup, another new design in our STORE!!

When you attend a formal event in a sea of white tie & tails, everyone looks the same - except of course for those fashionable few who opt for the formal kilt instead of a penguin suit. Without question, wearing a kilt in a crowd will always garner more attention that any tuxedo or suit - both from women and men (who want to know where they can get one so the women will notice them).

So, here is your chance to not only join an organization (for FREE!!) devoted to the wearing of a unique fashion item, but to relate your own experiences in Highland attire, utilize our Links section to search through a vast array of vendors and informational sites, and review continuously-expanding articles on the subject. This site is for YOU, and so your comments and contributions are overwhelmingly encouraged. Be sure to check out our online store, where you will find apparel, merchandise, and more, all emblazoned with the organization's unique logo, proudly announcing your affiliation. I look forward to hearing from you.

MY CURRENT FAVORITE LINKS:

Liam O'Daly (his website)

Be ye Scots or be ye Irish, you'll appreciate the beautiful artwork of Liam O'Daly - a Kansas City, MO-based Irishman, Liam's work encompasses the cities, towns and villages of Ireland and Europe. The metro area of Kansas City, Missouri and the MidWest also appear. His work is somewhat abstract, but always beautiful - especially his paintings of the Rock of Cashel (shown at right) which I just had to add to my collection. You need to check out his site, and buy some of his work, so that when he's internationally acclaimed, you can say you knew him when, and have one or more of his pieces.

The greatest Irish voice I've ever heard, Period! You need to visit her site, buy her music, and take every possible opportunity to see her perform somewhere in Chicago, if you're lucky...

Born and raised in Chicago, Catherine started singing in pubs and bars in the late 70's with the group, Parting Glass.

As more friends had her sing at weddings and she became active at Old St. Patrick's Church, the odd change of venue from pubs to churches began. Most jobs today are weddings and funerals and Catherine describes her work with, "Marryin' 'em, and buryin' 'em!"

This is one brilliant, talented Irish bouzouki player. What? You don't know what an Irish bouzouki is? Uncultured slob... No, neither did I, until I saw her perform at my favorite spot in NO, O'Flaherty's, unfortunately now defunct. "Immediately enthralled" is the phrase that comes to mind. I was there with my 9-year-old daughter, who was equally entertained, and that's saying a lot.

Any performer who can play the bouzouki, sing like a dream, produce her own CD artwork, as well as incorporate Kansas, Beavis, Monty Python, Elmer Fudd ("kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit"), and a plethora (just like using that word) of other obscure but important paraphernalia, deserves our undying worship and devotion. Buy everything in her store!!! Or at the very least, buy her CDs.
